From the Louisville Business First article:
Interapt LLC has joined the ranks of companies such as Instagram, Dropbox and Lyft.
Gartner Inc., an IT research and advisory firm, has named the Louisville tech company on one of its annual lists of Cool Vendors.
Interapt is a firm that develops mobile apps and technology for Google Glass and wearables. Founded in 2011, the company employs around 50 employees, including contractors and interns.
Interapt was selected as a Cool Vendor in the Digital Workplace, one of about 100 categories that Gartner ranks each year. The Digital Workspace category has five companies that “represent the intersection of technology, human capital and consumer trends that characterize the core elements of the digital workplace,”according to Gartner.
In an interview with Interapt CEO Ankur Gopal, he said the recognition is huge milestone for the company because it demonstrates to him and his employees that Interapt is on the right track.
“It’s a huge validation,” Gopal said.
He pointed to the track record of previous Garnter Cool Vendors, which include Nest and Airbnb.
Companies recognized by Gartner have high odds of success, Derk Erbé, founder and CEO of analyst relations advisory firm Kea Co., wrote in a LinkedIn post. Of the more than 1,250 technology companies nominated from 2009 to 2013, about 80 percent are still independent companies and about 15 percent have been acquired.
