ROCHESTER, New York – Six15 Technologies (Formerly the Tactical Display Group of Vuzix (VZX.V)), a world leader in rugged, high resolution head mount displays and OEM optoelectronic module manufacturing, has announced the release of a high definition, binocular system designed for training and simulation.
The Department of Defense and contractors have been seeking new technologies that address the needs of the growing training and simulation market. The new product, the SimEx 585, resolves concerns over resource and monetary constraints by allowing for an alternative to traditional live preparation, while still providing warfighters with high skilled training.
Six15 has been working been with Fidelity Technologies Corporation to develop an innovative product that meet the needs of Department of Defense Joint Tactical Air Controllers (JTACs). Fidelity is a leader in the training and simulation field, utilizing cutting edge technology to support the warfighter. Six15 Technologies has been selected by Fidelity to design, develop and fabricate the next generation simulation device.
The SimEx 585 introduces industry-leading performance in a binocular head mounted display. The integration of dual 1920×1200 OLED displays, standard HDMI video input and an integrated head tracker delivers a fully immersive simulation experience.
This performance is provided in a package weighing less than 225 grams, which consumes less than 2.6W of power and has a flip-up center mount compatible with standard head straps and helmets.
